Product Sales
Ron Hull Jnr Ltd sell a wide range of recyclates back into the manufacturing industry, including:
- RDF/SDF Fuels
- Ferrous Metal
- Non-Ferrous Metal
- Shredded Glass - White, Green, Amber and Mixed Colours
- Chipped Wood
- Recycled Aggregates
- Baled Paper/Cardboard
- Baled Plastics
These recyclates are all by-products of our extensive waste management and scrap recycling services undertaken within our Waste Management Facility on Mangham Road in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
See our End Of Life Vehicle Depollution and Recycling process below, which ultimately results in the effective recovery of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the vehicle:
Prior to accepting a vehicle for scrappage, our End of LIfe Vehicle staff inspect all scrap vehicles and undertake the required identity checks(V5C and driving licence) prior to de-registering the vehicle
The de-pollution and scrap metal/component recovery process then starts
Scrap vehicles are then stripped of their steel or aluminium wheels and batteries, and then drained of all other operational fluids, all of which is either re-used or recycled
Waste Oil, Fuel and Brake Fluid is collected and taken to specialist processing plants for recycling
Oil Filters are sent for processing to separate the metal casings from the oil, with the resultant oil processed along with other waste oil and the metal casings recycled into new steel
Batteries are largely made of plastic (polypropylene) and lead plates. Battery casings are processed into new battery casings and the lead plates recycled into new lead plates and other battery parts
Around 50 million waste Tyres are produced each year, with approximately 70,000 tonnes originating from End of LIfe Vehicles. Alternative recycling ranges from incineration in cement kilns for energy recovery, re-sale of part-worn or re-treaded tyres to re-using granulated tyres in sports surfaces and road construction
The scrapped vehicle's engine is then stripped from the car ready for melting in our on-site furnace
The engines are then placed in the furnace where all the aluminium castings are melted off. This liquid aluminium is then poured into ingot moulds
The aluminium ingots are then sold onto aluminium plants to recycle into new products
The burnt engine blocks (minus aluminium parts) are then stripped of all steel cogs by machine and hand
These steel parts are then sold to specialist steel plants to recycle into new steel products.
The rest of the scrapped car is then crushed, baled and sold to a shredding plant for re-cycling back as new steel products
The total recycling from every scrapped car is as follows:
- 75% Ferrous or Non-Ferrous Metals (including Lead)
- 1% Fuel
- 1.1% Fluids
- 3.1% Tyres
- 0.4% Batteries
- 4.4% PST recovery
The total recycled from a scrapped car is 85%
